Photographing and writing about unique homes and buildings on Cape Cod over the last several years has shown me that structures are the ultimate creative canvas.

They are also theaters of life with built-in drama, spirit and continuity. In their own way, they speak to us of the connections between nature, cultures and centuries. From period detailing to high technology innovations, from handhewn timber beams to mermaids made of weathered gray shingles, they display the ingenuity of humanity as well as the artful detail and timeless beauty of nature.
